Taiko Workshop for Youth Saturday, April 30th

The Consulate General of Japan in Montreal is organizing a free introductory taiko workshop, offered by Japanese percussion group Arashi Daiko, to participants aged 8 to 18. Along with the workshop, the Tôhoku Rokkon-Sai Festival and the reconstruction process in northeastern Japan following the Great East Japan Earthquake will be introduced. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Advance registration is necessary; please read the instructions below.

Participants’ age: 8 to 18 years old
Date: Saturday, April 30th, 2016
Time option 1): 2:15 pm to 3:30pm
Time option 2): 3:45 pm to 5:00pm
Location: Japanese Cultural center of Montreal, 8155 Rousselot (corner Jarry), Montreal
Price: Free (reservations required)
To register: Send an email to culture@mt.mofa.go.jp with your choice of time option (1 or 2), the parent’s/tutor’s full name, their telephone number, and the participant’s full name and his/her age.

* For the workshop, participants are expected to wear comfortable sports clothes, and they should bring a bottle of water as well as a hand towel.
